Meet the producer - Kevin Martin
Hi, I'm Kevin, also known by my stage name, MidLyf. I’m a music producer from Salt Lake City, Utah, where my passion for music began in my adolescence years as a percussionist. Those early and evolving experiences shaped the foundation of my career, and today, I’m proud to captivate audiences with my compositions.
My Early Years and Musical Awakening
Growing up in Salt Lake City with four older siblings, I was surrounded by creativity and inspiration that deeply influenced my love for music. In middle school, I found my voice in percussion ensembles. Following in my sister’s footsteps, I immersed myself in music theory, mastering the xylophone and discovering a passion that has only grown stronger with time. My inspiration grew in high school when I took a TV/Film class where I had the opportunity to experiment with audio on a digital scale. I experimented with GarageBand and Logic, creating songs out of samples and applying my own styles with MIDI instruments.
The Rise of MidLyf
As I continued my musical journey, I explored different DAWs, genres, and soundscapes, refining my craft as a producer. During this time, I developed the unique sound that defines MidLyf—a blend of electronic beats, soulful instrumentals, ethereal melodies, and thought-provoking rhythmic energy that not only merge but transcend genres creating a captivating sonic experience.
My Academic Journey
To deepen my understanding of the craft, I earned a Bachelors degree in Audio Production from Full Sail University. This program broadened my technical skills and provided me with the tools to bring my creative visions to life with professional precision.

My journey as MidLyf is all about pushing boundaries and exploring new musical horizons. With every release, I aim to create transformative experiences that resonate deeply with my audience. Beyond my own artistry, I find immense joy in collaborating with other artists, blending our unique styles to create something truly special. I’m also passionate about helping others on their musical journeys, whether it’s guiding them through the production process or sharing insights that help bring their creative visions to life. Music is my way of building connections, and I’m excited to keep evolving as an artist while fostering a community of creativity and expression.
